Establishing New Service

Building a new home? 

If you are building a new residential dwelling and need electric and/or natural gas service, you can download and print the service application form and instructions via the links below. You must completely fill out this form as soon as you obtain your building permit.

Building a new commercial, industrial or multi-family building?

If you are building a new commercial, industrial or multi-family facility and need to establish service, download our Commercial, Industrial, Multi-Family New Construction Service Application (XLS) for new electric and natural gas installation.

Please contact Alliant Energy at 1-800-ALLIANT (800-255-4268) before completing these forms. Alliant Energy will send you a complete packet of information, including contact information for the construction associate who will assist you in this process.

Please Note: The forms above are for establishing new service at a building site. If you are a residential customer moving to an already existing home, please visit our Start/Stop/Transfer Service section. If you are a business moving to an existing location, please call 1-800-ALLIANT (1-800-255-4268).
 

ATTN Contractors (builders, electricians, plumbers, etc)

Please dial 866-255-8234 for temporary electric or gas service interruptions, restorations or to schedule an appointment with an Alliant Energy technician.

When asked, simply enter the work location’s zip code.

The Hotline is staffed 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Please allow at least a 48 hours advanced notice.
