When Alliant Energy employees were looking for ways to connect with others concerned with environmental preservation, they joined forces to establish the Stewards of Nature program in 1992. Since then, this group of highly motivated employees, retirees, families and friends has worked with a variety of environmental groups on preservation and restoration projects. Employees involved in Stewards of Nature have donated more than 300 hours annually to environmental improvements. Recent projects have included cleaning up an "adopted" section of Highway 151, and planting prairie grass on conservation properties. |

A major strength of the Stewards of Nature program is the partnerships with environmental and community groups to accomplish the projects. Alliant Energy is proud to work with dozens of national, state and local organizations, including the Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, International Crane Foundation and Wisconsin State Parks, Forests & Recreation Areas. |
