Alliant Energy provides PowerHouse DVDs to libraries in Lee County

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – November 6, 2009 – Interstate Power and Light (IPL), an Alliant Energy company, recognizes that times are tough right now. We are all trying to figure out where to cut back. One way to energize your wallet is to investigate some do-it-yourself energy-efficient projects that cut your energy costs.
In an effort to reach out to customers with energy-saving projects and ideas, Alliant Energy is making its PowerHouse television shows available free of charge to libraries throughout Iowa and Minnesota. Aired on TV throughout the Midwest, PowerHouse is the energy-saving, money-saving program that shows homeowners how to make the most of their energy usage and save money.
For the last thirteen years, Alliant Energy’s PowerHouse television show has given homeowners practical advice on a wide variety of topics, including energy efficiency, conservation, safety and the environment. The show focuses on do-it-yourself projects, with demonstrations of simple improvements that any homeowner can tackle.
The complete set of 51 PowerHouse episodes is now available at Fort Madison, Keokuk, Donnellson and West Point libraries. Each episode focuses on a variety of topics, like installing storm doors, choosing new appliances, building a green home and more.
