Speedpay® one-time payments
Alliant Energy has partnered with Western Union® Speedpay to give you the option to pay by credit card or electronic funds transfer from your savings or checking account. For a small fee, you can easily pay your utility bill over the phone or Internet, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
To pay via the Internet:
Use your Alliant Energy account number to log in to the online Speedpay system.
To pay over the phone:
Call 1-877-429-4126 and follow the voice instructions.
The Speedpay option is intended for one-time use. If you’re interested in receiving and payingyour bill online every month, you can sign up for Your e-Bill. If you'd like to have your monthly bill payments automatically withdrawn from your bank account, you can sign up for Easy Pay.
Speedpay payments are posted to your account within three business days. If you are paying due to a disconnect notice, call our 24-hour Customer Service Center at 1-800-ALLIANT with your Speedpay confirmation number so we can note it on your account.
Speedpay charges a convenience fee for each transaction to cover the costs of processing credit card and electronic debit payments. This fee amount will be reflected on your bank statement or credit card statement as a separate charge.
Wisconsin Power and Light Company and Interstate Power and Light Company utilize a third party, Speedpay, Inc., to provide you with the ability to use your credit card to make payments.
The convenience fee is the amount Speedpay, Inc., charges to cover processing fees and transaction costs associated with handling credit card and electronic debit payments.
Other companies are able to add the price of processing these requests to their overall price of goods and services. Because Alliant Energy is a regulated utility, we are unable to do that.
By charging only the customers who use this service, it's a fair way to pay for this option. Only the customers who choose to use this service will be charged the fee.
