No - you must use our new online application tool to apply for open positions with Alliant Energy. We are no longer accepting e-mailed, faxed or mailed resumes or applications.
Yes – just add all jobs of interest to your “Job Basket,” then select “Apply for Jobs in Basket.”
When you apply for multiple jobs simultaneously, you will only complete one application in the system. However, you may be asked to answer additional questions depending on the positions you’re interested in.
No - to be considered for other job openings, you must re-apply.
You may update your contact information (address, phone, e-mail, etc.) by returning to the applicant homepage and logging in with your username and password. From there, you may change your address, telephone number, e-mail address, or your name.
No – when you log in using your e-mail address and password, the system will retrieve your application.
You’ll have the opportunity to add, edit, or delete any additional information for the new position. However, you may be asked to answer additional questions specific to that position.
Current Alliant Energy employees should apply online through the My Compass intranet. This will ensure that your resume is handled appropriately.

If you have a current, up-to-date resume prepared, it should take less than 30 minutes to register and submit your resume.
To fully portray your education, skills and experience, it is best to complete every question to make sure we have all your qualifications.
No – you will need to copy/paste or type in your information. The amount of text is not limited to the size of the text box; you can include as much or as little information as you wish in these fields.
However, keep in mind that based on the information you provide, our staffing department will be screening your application to the qualifications for the position. Therefore, it is best to provide as much detail as possible to be sure your application is screened appropriately.
Our system saves all information in text-only format. Don’t worry about how it looks – all we need is the text to be able to review your qualifications. If you’re called for an interview, you can bring along printed copies of your resume.
Once you submit the online application, you will not be able to edit or revise your application for the same position opening. You will only be able to update your contact information (address, phone, e-mail, etc.) by returning to the applicant homepage and logging in with your username and password.
For future positions, you will have the option of updating your resume prior to submission.
Yes – our system is designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized use. In addition, in accordance with our strict corporate privacy policy, we will not sell, rent or otherwise distribute your personal information to any outside organization.
If it is your first time applying online at Alliant Energy, you will need to provide an e-mail address and password so we can identify you in the future. You should select a password that is unique to you and can be easily remembered but is not obvious to others. Your e-mail address may also be used to contact you regarding your application.
State job service agencies and most community libraries have public-access computers you can use to apply online. The staff there can assist you with setting up a free e-mail account.
If you are returning to this site, your log-in is the e-mail address and password you used at your last visit.
If you do not remember your password, select the “I Forgot My Password” link and your password will be sent to the e-mail address we have on record.

Most likely your monitor’s resolution is set to 800x600. For ease of use with this online application system, we recommend a screen resolution setting 1024x768 or higher. This setting is typically found under “My Computer>Control Panel>Display>Settings>Screen Area” on most computers.

Following close of the recruitment campaign, we will review each submission against the criteria for the role. If there is a match between your qualifications/career goals and the position to which you have applied, an Alliant Energy representative will contact you within two to three weeks after the position closes.
No – you’ll receive an automated e-mail indicating that your application has been successfully submitted. If your qualifications match the position, we’ll contact you within two to three weeks after the position closes.
If an offer is extended, you will be asked to complete a drug test for all positions, and a physical for some if applicable.
Yes, we do a thorough background security check.
