Mission Statement

The Alliant Energy Foundation was formed in order to help improve the quality of life — now and in the future — in the communities where Alliant Energy has a presence. The Foundation’s programs reflect a commitment to play an active role in those areas and give back to future generations.

Since its formation in 1998, the Foundation has contributed nearly $26 million to worthwhile projects and organizations through a variety of programs and worthwhile initiatives.

Through its Community Grants program, the Foundation supports health and human services programs, education endeavors, civic activities, cultural and arts initiatives and environmental efforts.

In addition, the Foundation offers Matching Gifts and Volunteer Programs to employees and retirees of Alliant Energy, its subsidiaries and predecessor companies. Through these programs, the Foundation is directing financial contributions to causes and organizations that are directly supported by employees and retirees.

The Foundation also funds scholarship programs in partnership with many colleges and universities in the company’s utility service area as well as through our own programs. It also allocates a significant portion of its annual giving to support the United Way.
