Alternative Energy – Renewable Gas Projects

IEA has been a developer, operator and owner of a waste to energy project which utilizes several different waste products to produce electric energy. Currently IEA is working with the agricultural community and food industry to dispose of their waste and use this waste to produce energy.

IEA is working with developers and equipment providers to create methane gas from animal and food industry waste products. Through anaerobic digestion, the end product is a cost effective, clean energy that is reliable and secure. In addition, our projects create the following benefits for the waste producer and the surrounding communities:

Cows

  • Significantly reduce the carbon dioxide and methane emissions from dairies and cattle farms
  • Eliminate odor from farming operations. Anaerobic digestion converts the odor causing materials in the organic matter into methane and carbon dioxide, which are odorless
  • Alleviate environmental issues pertaining to leachate concentration in the water table
  • Reduce the amount of land required for the application of organic waste
  • Provides for environmentally clean disposal of food industry waste products
  • Creates energy from waste— reducing our nation’s dependence on oil and gas
