MADISON, WI – April 7, 2008 – Wisconsin Power and Light Company (WPL), an Alliant Energy company, is pleased to announce Alliant Energy’s $50,000 donation to the Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund.
The Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund is a statewide, non-profit, public/private partnership that keeps the heat and power turned on for thousands of Wisconsin families who, for various reasons, are struggling to make those monthly payments.
“We have always been an advocate for energy assistance,” said Barbara Swan, President of WPL. “No one should be without heat on cold winter days and we are committed to help those who are struggling with their heating bills keep the heat turned on.”
“People shouldn’t have to decide between buying food or medication and heating their home,” said Tim Bruer, Executive Director of Energy Services Incorporated. “Unfortunately, that’s a choice more and more families are finding themselves making. Donations, like Alliant Energy’s, to the Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund will help people who, for whatever reason, are having trouble paying their heating bills.”
Alliant Energy’s $50,000 donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, by the state of Wisconsin. During the last four years Alliant Energy has donated more than $200,000 to the Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund.
