Wisconsin Power and Light Company improves gas system reliability in the Town of Beloit

$132,000 project will improve natural gas distribution system in Burrwood Park area

Madison, Wisconsin – April 21, 2008 – Continuing its commitment to ensure safe and reliable natural gas service, crews contracted by Wisconsin Power and Light Company (WPL), an Alliant Energy company, will begin to upgrade natural gas lines in the Town of Beloit this week.

WPL will replace and upgrade 5,000 feet of aging underground natural gas mains in the Burrwood Park area, on Community Ave. south to Linda Dr. The Project is expected to last approximately two months.

As construction progresses during the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane and there will be periodic road blockages. Drivers are asked to use slower speeds in the work area. Damage to yards will be kept as minimal as possible and will be restored after the project is completed.
