About the project


Alliant Energy has partnered with Fareway on a solar project at its corporate headquarters in Boone, Iowa. The Fareway Solar Field falls under the Alliant Energy® Customer-Hosted Renewables program that lets business and municipal customers lease their land for renewable energy projects. We’ll distribute the clean energy this project generates directly to the community.

Why solar?

The Fareway Solar Field is part of our Clean Energy Blueprint, a strategic roadmap to cost-effectively accelerate renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions. Alliant Energy’s sustainability goals include eliminating all coal from our generation fleet by 2040 and achieving net-zero carbon dioxide emissions from the electricity we generate by 2050.
