Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA Solar Project

About the project

Alliant Energy and the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA are partnering on a 500-kilowatt solar project to be built on donated land in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The project will be Alliant Energy’s first customer-hosted solar project under construction in Iowa. It’s also the company’s first Customer-Hosted Renewables program partnership with a nonprofit organization.

“Our partnership with Alliant Energy creates the opportunity to use donated property, generate meaningful revenue for our organization and bring renewable clean energy generation to our community,” said Kim Jass-Ramirez, President & CEO, Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA. “We were honored to have land donated to our organization and now to be able to use it for our financial benefit and the community’s benefit is fitting for what the donor intended.”
