Low-Income Multifamily and Institutional Audits for Iowa communities

As a property owner, manager or landlord you've got a lot to handle.

Let us help you and your tenants reduce energy use and costs so you can focus on your business. Whether you manage multifamily residences, institutional facilities or nonprofit agencies, our Low-Income Multifamily and Institutional program is designed to meet your unique needs.

Our program provides a free on-site energy assessment conducted by a professional energy analyst, along with a report of your building’s unique energy performance. Based on the assessment, you may receive free energy-saving products installed during the visit.

Benefits

  • Lower maintenance costs. New longer-lasting products mean less time replacing worn or broken items throughout your property. You’ll also learn ways to reduce ongoing maintenance expenses.
  • Zero labor costs. Our experienced technicians will install the new products – no need to hire an outside professional.
  • Improved property value. New products and upgrades enhance the appearance and value of your property.
  • Reduced vacancy rates. A more marketable property with energy-efficient features is likely to have lower vacancy rates.
  • Tenant satisfaction. New energy-efficient products provide a more comfortable living environment and energy savings leading to higher tenant satisfaction and retention.
  • Financial incentives. Take advantage of rebates up to 40% of the total cost of energy efficiency modifications.
  • Long-term savings. You’ll enjoy long-term savings through reduced energy use.

How it works

  1. Complete the Low-income multifamily and institutional audit request form.
  2. A representative from our partner Franklin Energy will contact you for more information to determine eligibility and to schedule your free on-site energy assessment.
  3. Based on the assessment, the energy analyst may install free energy-saving products in common areas and tenant units during the visit. This could include programmable thermostats, LED bulbs, efficient showerheads, faucet aerators and more.
  4. You’ll receive a detailed report of your building’s energy performance along with recommended improvement opportunities.
  5. Consider the recommended projects. Once you decide what’s right for your building, you can schedule the approved projects with your contractor.
  6. After the work is complete, fill out and submit the low-income multifamily and institutional efficiency improvements rebate claim form.pdf and attach all paid invoices to receive your rebate.

The report will include:
