Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Amy Best is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Alliant Energy (NASDAQ: LNT). She joined the company in 2025, bringing deep leadership skills and expertise in unleashing the creativity and talent of employees through holistic human capital strategies. Throughout her career, she has unlocked new opportunities for individual employee growth that benefits the company, customers and communities.
Prior to Alliant Energy, Amy was the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Exelon, a $40 billion Fortune 250 energy transmission and distribution firm that includes the U.S.’s largest utility company. In this role, Best was responsible for all facets of Exelon’s HR function, including executive compensation, benefits, cost transformation, employee relations, talent management, recruiting, organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Previously, she was Vice President of Human Resources for Exelon Generation from 2007 to 2012, leading HR strategy and operations for the country’s largest nuclear fleet, along with power operations and power trading functions. From 2005 to 2007, she held the position of Director of Human Resources for the Exelon Business Services Company and previously held several human resources roles of increasing responsibility at Exelon.
Amy is a Trustee of the Field Museum of Chicago and has served as a director on numerous boards focused on skill building, education and building a bright future for young people.
Amy holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from Loyola University Chicago. She is also a CEO Perspectives Fellow.
