Atlas Roofing Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer of innovative, high quality building products, broke ground in August for its new $224 million asphalt shingle manufacturing facility based in Clinton, Iowa. It will be built on 150 acres of the certified, development-ready land in the Lincolnway Industrial Rail and Air Park Growth Site.
“We are thrilled to announce that we will be working together with the great people of Clinton, Iowa, to continue our growth in the steep slope roofing category,” said Ken Farrish, president of Atlas Roofing Corporation. “Clinton will help us meet customer demand with this investment in capacity in the Midwest, but we are equally excited to bring more than 100 new full-time jobs to the region.”
Clinton is one of the largest per capita manufacturing centers in the nation. Several high-profile customers include ADM, Custom-Pak, WestRock, LyondellBasell and Nestle Purina PetCare. Clinton also has a large labor pool for companies to recruit for construction and employees.
“We are proud to partner with Grow Clinton and the city of Clinton in welcoming Atlas Roofing to the community,” said Mayuri Farlinger, Alliant Energy’s vice president of customer and community engagement. “We are thrilled to see our recent investment in the Lincolnway Rail and Air Park is proving to be an economic asset to the community. We look forward to providing energy solutions to Atlas Roofing and will continue to work with our economic development partners to build stronger communities.”
