Supporting local communities
Throughout Hunger Action Month, Alliant Energy encouraged its employees to volunteer and support hunger and food insecurity programs. Many spent time at mobile food pantries and food packing events. Alliant Energy employees volunteered at mobile food pantries in Beloit, Patch Grove, Janesville, Platteville, Monroe, Portage, Wisconsin Rapids, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan, Wisconsin as well as Centerville, Iowa. Employees also packed food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin.

Hunger and housing is a key giving area for the Alliant Energy Foundation

“The Alliant Energy Foundation is proud to support our partners who work to combat food insecurity every day,” said Andy Kitslaar, executive director, Alliant Energy Foundation. “Beyond the success of Drive Out Hunger, we are proud of our employee volunteerism, which creates a direct impact for the communities we serve and helps us carry out our mission to serve customers.”

In addition to hunger and housing, the Alliant Energy Foundation supports programs that promote workforce readiness, environmental stewardship and community safety and engagement
