Choosing Alliant Energy means savings of up to $58 million for Decorah. The 2018 Feasibility Study revealed Municipal Electric Utility (MEU) rates could be as much as 48% higher than Alliant Energy’s rates over a 20-year forecast.
In addition, Alliant Energy actual rates over the past seven years (blue line, below) were lower than forecasted (gray line, below). Customers paid lower rates than what was predicted.
