Program delivers meals to those in need throughout Eastern Iowa
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – April 23, 2020 – Alliant Energy (NASDAQ: LNT) has donated $10,000 to the Horizons Meals on Wheels program in Cedar Rapids through its Foundation. This contribution during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis is part of Alliant Energy’s ongoing commitment to help communities in need.
The donation will help the Horizons Meals on Wheels program deliver meals to seniors and persons with disabilities in Eastern Iowa. The program provides a sense of security and allows these individuals to meet nutritional needs while staying in their homes.

This support will immediately assist the Horizons Meals on Wheels program as they continue to serve meals to individuals in need,” said Leah Rodenberg, Senior Community Affairs Program Manager of the Alliant Energy Foundation.
Alliant Energy encourages others to also help by volunteering and donating money or food items.
“We are extremely grateful for the support from Alliant Energy. This donation will help us continue to deliver meals to our community’s most vulnerable seniors during this difficult time,” said Mike Barnhart, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Horizons.
Alliant Energy has contributed over $330,000 to date to organizations helping with emergency relief during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This includes donations in Iowa and Wisconsin to Feeding America Food Banks, the American Red Cross and United Way.

In addition, Alliant Energy recently announced a $2 million donation to its Hometown Care Energy Fund. The fund assists customers who need financial help to pay their bill. It is supported annually with funds from Alliant Energy and voluntary contributions from customers.
Alliant Energy will continue to work with community partners and monitor new information from government officials to evaluate community needs and use that information as a guide to future gifts.
