Ben Lipari
Vice President - Commercial Operations
Ben Lipari is the Vice President of Commercial Operations. He joined the company in 2004. Ben began his career at Alliant Energy in the Project Management Office as a Project Consultant and Manager. Throughout his 19 years of power industry experience, Ben has held multiple roles, each with increasing levels of leadership and responsibility.
Ben has been providing leadership for the planning and development of Alliant Energy’s generation, primarily renewable resources since 2014. Our growth of the generation portfolio requires an active renewable developer partnership network; the development team secures project options, engages in commercial negotiations and initiates tax credit qualification strategies. Through Ben’s leadership and team execution, we have had a predictable pipeline of projects that have successfully navigated local, state and related permitting, as well as forged new relationships with countless customers and communities as we engage in outreach related to our expanding investments.
In 2024, Ben was named Vice President of Commercial Operations. In this role, he provides leadership and guidance to successfully conduct project development for all of our new generation resources and related initiatives. In addition, Ben provides leadership to our Energy Market Operations, which includes fuel procurement, market operations, risk and hedge strategy. Wholesale pricing, strategy and customer relationships are also included in Ben’s responsibilities across both Wisconsin and Iowa. Under his leadership, the team is responsible for meeting Alliant Energy’s corporate strategic objectives and delivering value and benefits to customers and communities.
Outside of work, Ben is busy with his four teenage sons and their various athletic, academic and artistic interests. Ben enjoys spending time participating with his tennis teams, golfing and vacationing with his family, as well.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and MBA from University of Wisconsin–Madison.
