Alliant Energy has recognized Grinnell College as a recipient of the 2021 Excellence in Energy Efficient Design Awards through the Commercial New Construction program for the Grinnell College Humanities and Social Studies Complex.
The Humanities and Social Studies Complex, an academic building designed by EYP, is now a breathtaking feature of the Grinnell College campus in the heart of Iowa. The project achieved 56% annual energy savings and includes:

A ground coupled heat recovery chiller with chilled beams.

A variable air volume system.

A dedicated outdoor air system for heating and cooling.

Ventilation air heat recovery and demand control.

Energy-efficient lighting systems with daylight controls and occupancy sensors.
Grinnell College participated in Alliant Energy’s Commercial New Construction program, which provides energy design assistance and energy efficiency incentives to commercial customers for new construction, additions, and renovation projects in its service areas.
