Rock River solar facility
The Rock River solar project is one of the ways we are supplying solar energy to our customers.
The Rock River solar project went live in 2016. When the facility went into service, it was the largest solar generating station in Wisconsin.
The snapshot
- Located on our closed Rock River Generating Station landfill site in the town of Beloit, Wis.
- 2.3 megawatts (enough to power 500 local households)
- More than 7,700 solar panels
- 10 year purchase power agreement with Hanwha W Cells USA
- First solar installation in Wisconsin permitted by the DNR on a closed landfill site
